The 2026 NFL season hasn’t even started yet and the Jacksonville Jaguars are already taking a massive L

I tend to talk a lot about college football uniforms more than NFL uniforms, but that all changed Tuesday morning.
The NFL rolled out their “Rivalry” series of uniforms for all eight teams from the NFC North and AFC South, and by and large, they did a pretty nice job.
The league partnered with Nike to deliver some uniforms that feature a good bit of franchise history and community pride stitched into each team’s garments, and I have to say I’m a fan of the overall concept.

I’ve always been a bigger fan of college uniforms and felt the NFL threads were a bit too “corporate” and “samey” for my liking, but almost all of these are sweet looking alternate kits.
All of them except for one team, that is.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, being an AFC South team, were included in the “Rivalry” uniform rollout, and if I’m being blunt, they massively swung and missed their intended target with these monstrosities.
Okay, let’s start with the positives. At least they aren’t the “Color Rush Thursday” mustard uniforms the Jags wore back in the late 2010s.
Well, that’s about the only positive I can find, so let’s dive in, shall we?
This is way too busy for my liking. The helmet, jersey and socks, and pants all being different colors is murder on my eyes. It looks like a 13-year-old kid customized Jacksonville’s uniforms in Madden and picked the most garish combinations possible.
Why didn’t they go with a black helmet like the good old days?
Or, if they wanted to do the teal lids, at least get a matching jersey and make the pants white.
And, oh Lord, the pants!
You might not be able to tell, but if you look closely enough on the graphic, those are indeed, spotted pants.

You know, like a jaguar?
People like to rag on another team from the Sunshine State, the Florida Gators, for their “Gator Skin” jerseys, and rightly so. But these pants are just as egregious and deserve just as much flak.
And believe me, they are catching some heat from fans on social media.
The season hasn’t even started yet, and the Jags are already taking L’s all over the place.
On the bright side, if Trevor Lawrence throws for 400 yards and three touchdowns while wearing these and Jacksonville wins their division this year, everyone will look back fondly on these uniforms a few decades from now.
Time heals all wounds. Hell, just look at how popular the “Creamsicle” jerseys are in Tampa.
